(Farewell Ramadan)

.

The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“In (some) poetry, there is wisdom”

[Saheeh al-Bukhari, 6145; Abu Da’wud, 5010; At-Tirmidhi, 2844 and others]

.

Al-Hafidh Ibn Rajab said some beautiful lines of poetry about separating from Ramadan. He wrote:

.

.

The beauty and the meaning of these words display wisdom and emotions that touch the heart of Muslims. It is thus reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“Poetry is like speech, it can be from good speech and from ugly speech.”

[Adab al-Mufrad, 862; Mu’jam al-Awst, 7898; Daraqutni, 3784 – classed as mursal by ibn Muflih in ‘al-Adaab’, 2/95 and ibn Hajar – graded as hasan by an-Nawawi in ‘Al-Adhkar’, 465 and al-Haythami in his ‘Majma’, 8/125 and saheeh by al-Albani in ‘Silsilat as-Saheehah’, 447]

.

May Allaah bless us to witness Ramadan 1433.
