Du’a for his Ummah

Says in His Noble Book:

“Verily, there has come unto you a Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) from amongst yourselves. It grieves him that you should receive any injury or difficulty. He (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is anxious over you (i.e. concerned for your salvation); for the believers (he is) full of pity, kind, and merciful.” At-Tawbah: 128]

“And We have sent you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): not but as a mercy for the ‘Alameen.” [Al-Anbiyah’: 107]

‘A’ishah, the Mother of the Believers

“When I (once) saw the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم in a good mood, I said to him: “O Messenger of Allaah, make du’a to Allaah for me.”

He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “O Allaah! Forgive ‘A’ishah her past and future sins, what is hidden (of her sin) and what is apparent (of her sins).”

(At this) I began smiling broadly (out of joy) until my head fell into my lap.

The Messenger of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم said (of my joy): “Does my du’a make you happy?”

I replied: “And how can your du’a not make me happy?”

He صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “By Allaah, it is the du’a I make for my Ummah in every prayer.”
